The Opportunity

Columbia-Greene Community College, a community college dedicated to fostering academic excellence and student success, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Mathematics. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated educator who is committed to teaching a diverse student body and has a passion for making mathematics accessible and engaging. The successful candidate will primarily teach a range of mathematics courses, including but not limited to statistics, calculus, and linear algebra. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in computational mathematics, data science, and/or physics. Position starts Fall 2025.

Minimum Qualifications

A master's degree in mathematics (Ph.D. preferred) from an accredited institution.
Demonstrated experience teaching mathematics at the college level, specifically in statistics, calculus, and linear algebra.
Commitment to student-centered teaching and learning, with the ability to engage and inspire students in a community college setting.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.



Preferred Qualifications

Experience or formal training in computational mathematics, data science, and/or physics.
Demonstrated ability to incorporate technology and innovative teaching methods in the classroom.
Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
A commitment to professional development and staying current in the field of mathematics and pedagogy.



Teaching Duties and Responsibilities

The duties below are representative of the duties of the classification and are not intended to cover all duties performed by the incumbent(s) of any position. Update existing program and course curriculum. Maintain expertise in current teaching methodologies, technologies, and curricula while developing new instructional materials and techniques to meet the changing needs of students.
Assist with the management of student learning outcome (SLO) creation and assessment.
Support new and existing local business partnerships that serve the best interest of our students.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to enhance instruction, curriculum, student success, and student completion.
Participate in the development and/or selection of course materials, equipment, technology, and distance education that will enhance offerings of the department.
Consult with students during regularly scheduled office hours.
Serve as a member of department, division, and college committees.
Perform other duties as required by contract, collective bargaining agreement, and general institutional needs in a timely manner.
The college offers day, evening, and online classes. Faculty may be required to teach a class in the evening/weekend or online.



Salary and Benefit Information

Contractual salary $51K, and rank will be commensurate with education and work experience. Public Service Loan Forgiveness to those who meet eligibility.
